The Director of BGO rehab department graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1994. He has been with BGO since 1999. He is certified in the McKenzie Post Graduate Spine method and in the Blankenship method for providing FCEs and work conditioning. Robert’s philosophy is to provide individualized care to each patient to return them to pain-free function.
Tracy attended undergraduate school at the University of Georgia and physical therapy school at the University of St. Augustine in 1996. She has been with BGO since 2000. Tracy is a certified provider of Pilates and Yoga and is certified in MAT (Muscle Activation Techniques) which focuses on jumpstarting the muscles in order to correct muscular imbalances, joint instability and restrictions in ROM to maximum functional return in a non-invasive, efficient manner. Tracy has won multiple national awards for her high level of patient outcomes and patient satisfaction. Tracy’s philosophy is to provide rehab and wellness through empathy, encouragement and positive energy.
Mikki is from the Northeast where she spent much of her time around the Chesapeake Bay and Annapolis Maryland. She graduated from University of Delaware where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology in 1989 and a Master of Science Degree in Physical Therapy in 1991. After marrying her husband Don, she began her career in Pennsylvania where she practiced for 15 years primarily in outpatient orthopaedic settings. During that time she completed her transitional Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Temple University. She enjoyed teaching at Hahnemann University as well as with orthopaedic surgeons in clinical settings throughout the Lehigh Valley. In 2006 she moved to Kentucky with her husband Don and 3 daughters Jessica, Lindsay, and Ellie to be closer to family. She further advanced her career by passing the Orthopaedic Specialist exam.. She has continued her passion to teach in academia by joining Bellermine University in Louisville and University of Kentucky as adjunct faculty. She has found a special interest in treating orthopaedic injuries of the upper quarter including the spine. She is very excited to be a part of the Bluegrass Orthopaedic occupational therapy center’s team where she will combine research, teaching, and clinical care as all a part of the posture nerve center. In her free time she enjoys running, hiking, and boating with her family, especially in the Great Lakes area of Michigan.
Evan graduated from the University of Kentucky with his graduate degree in Physical Therapy in 2004. He has been with BGO since 2016 as the Director of our Georgetown office. He has worked in an outpatient setting focusing on mechanical diagnosis and treatment of low back pain, nerve related injuries and sports medicine as well as manual therapy treatment of the spine and extremities. In is off time he enjoys outdoor camping, boating and motorcycling across the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
Chris Bagbey is our outreach physical therapist that performs BGO’s home visits for patients after their surgical procedure. Chris is a graduate of Transylvania University and University of Evansville where he received his Masters in Physical Therapy. Upon completion of his PT degree, Chris worked with a group of orthopedic surgeons in Evansville, Indiana. He worked in conjunction with the doctors to implement and coordinate a total joint program while treating the patients both in the hospital and in their homes. After 5 years, Chris and his family returned to Lexington where Chris began working with Dr. Christensen and his team. He currently heads up BGO’s Outpatient in the home care in direct coordination with Dr. Christensen and his team.
Michelle has worked at BGO since 2002. She graduated from PTA school at Essex College in 1998. She is also a certified personal trainer from AAAI/ISMA and has her AFFA certification as an aerobic instructor. Michelle’s treatment philosophy is to provide individualized care for each patient and to motivate each patient with encouragement and positive energy.
Bethany attended undergraduate school at the University of Kentucky and graduated from PTA school at Marshall Community and Technical College. She has worked at BGO since 2010. In 2016, Bethany won the Most Outstanding PTA award competing against over 100 other PTA’s across the nation for her outstanding patient outcomes and satisfaction. Bethany’s treatment philosophy is to ensure that each patient knows she cares and wants them to get better while fostering a fun and enjoyable environment along the way.
Summer has been working at BGO since 2014. She graduated from Marshall’s Community & Technical College in 2009 with her PTA degree. She started her career in a private practice outpatient physical therapy clinic in West Virginia. Summer enjoys working in all aspects of outpatient rehab from joint replacements to preparing a patient to return to sports. Summer is a dedicated Marshall University fan.
Christy was born and raised in Lexington, KY. She graduated in 2001 with her Physical Therapy Assistant degree from Midway College. Around 12 years ago she began to specialize in outpatient orthopaedics with a special interest in Mechanical Diagnosis Therapy. She has been with BGO since May of 2016. In her off time she likes to spend time with her husband and 2 children.
Sarah was born and raised in Pikeville, KY. She graduated with her Physical Therapy Assistant degree in 2012 from Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College. She has been with BGO in Georgetown, KY since 2016. In her off time she enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters and traveling back home to Eastern Kentucky.
Tina graduated from EKU in 1998 and obtained her Certification in Hand Therapy in 2008. She
began working at Bluegrass Orthopaedics in 2015. She was a contributing author of “Hand and Upper Extremity Rehabilitation, 3rd Ed – A Quick Reference Guide and Review” 2013.
Matt Angle graduated with an associate degree in OTA from Brown Mackie College-Louisville in 2016. He has worked in hand therapy at BGO since October of 2016. Previously he worked as a rehabilitation tech for several years. He enjoys being active and has competed in Adventure racing.
