Bluegrass Orthopaedics physicians will generally try to address joint pain initially with non-surgical approaches, including rest, physical therapy, applications of heat or cold and medication. Injections of a cortisone-like drug directly into a joint can also often reduce pain and inflammation. However, sometimes these methods are not successful and surgery may be necessary.

He was very attentive to my questions and to my wife’s questions. Dr. Denehy performed a complete hip replacement on my right hip in January 2019, and then a complete hip replacement on my left hip on March 2019. I would highly recommend Dr. Denehy, he is an excellent and caring surgeon. Dr. Denehy is one fine young man and it has been a pleasure to get to know him.

Great experience, done as outpatient surgery in the surgery center. Very good, I was well informed about what was going to happen and what to prepare for. Outpatient hip replacement. Everything went like clockwork! Almost no pain at all. The staff was first rate and extremely attentive. He is so knowledgeable and personable to boot! I have a history of blood clots and even though I tried to talk him into just taking aspirin after surgery, he insisted on my taking Eliquis. Good thing, because even on that RX, I began to develop a clot in my leg. He responded appropriately and I won’t argue with him again! He was100% right! I highly recommend him!

I had prior hip replacements, years ago. I needed a hip revision and couldn’t find a doctor to attempt to do surgery on me, because of the complications I previously had and some I was still having. I was referred to Dr. Christensen, he went above and beyond to help me. He has a great bedside manner and is such a wonderful, caring physician. It was wonderful! I had a total hip replacement December 5th. I have already been dismissed from physical therapy and feel great. I highly recommend Dr. Denehy!!

Dr Balthrope is a straightforward guy that gets you up and out of the hospital quickly. I have had 2 successful Hip replacementments, 1 knee replacement and a shoulder repair.

Dr. Balthrop and his staff were simply outstanding! From my first visit to the time of my OUTPATIENT hip replacement yesterday everything was as professional as a well oiled machine, but also personalized. My assigned nurse called this morning to check on me. Almost no pain at all. It has been a day and a half and my main concern is not overdoing my movement, cause I feel like I could generally do anything I wanted to do. Thanks to Dr. Balthrop and his first rate staff!
