Bluegrass Orthopaedics would like acknowledge our latest Champion patient - Mr. Mike Davis. Mr. Davis has had a long journey over the last few years with a fractured shoulder from a bicycle accident, and two subsequent total knee surgeries that were needed for him to get back to playing golf - his favorite hobby.
"I love to play golf as a hobby, socialize with my friends, and enjoy time around the clubhouse. In June 2015 I had bought a bicycle in an effort to gain more exercise, lose weight, and enjoy a new hobby. Unfortunately, a bicycle wreck and broken left shoulder quickly ended golf for the season." Mr. Davis underwent surgery with BGO's Dr. Vasicek, which required a plate and multiple screws to allow the fracture to heal. After a few months of physical therapy working on gaining his mobility and strength back, Mr. Davis was thankfully able to pick up his golf club and swing again.
Unfortunately, as Mr. Davis remembers, "A broken shoulder was just the beginning, as knee problems quickly arose in 2016 and my right knee was scoped and eventually replaced in 2017, then as one might guess, my left knee was scoped and also eventually replaced in 2019. Knee replacements have been some of the most difficult experiences for me, but through the help of Bluegrass Orthopaedics, I am now on my way back to playing golf in 2020 and couldn't be more excited!"
As you can see from the x-rays below, Mr. Davis now has two new knees and hopefully some pain free golf ahead of him!
Mr. Davis wants to thank the staff at BGO - "Dr. Vasicek was wonderful, and everyone on the staff in physical therapy helped me recover. I now I consider them family!"
