Bluegrass Orthopaedics physicians will generally try to address joint pain initially with non-surgical approaches, including rest, physical therapy, applications of heat or cold and medication. Injections of a cortisone-like drug directly into a joint can also often reduce pain and inflammation. However, sometimes these methods are not successful and surgery may be necessary.

Outpatient hip replacement. Everything went like clockwork! Almost no pain at all. The staff was first rate and extremely attentive. I just had a total hip replacement and could not be happier with Dr. Denehy! I feel like he is a real perfectionist in his work and I had an excellent outcome. I would highly recommend him to anyone. I’m so glad I chose Dr Denehy! My hip replacement went great and five days later, I’m walking really well with just a cane, mostly. He is so knowledgeable and personable to boot! He is so knowledgeable and personable to boot! I have a history of blood clots and even though I tried to talk him into just taking aspirin after surgery, he insisted on my taking Eliquis. Good thing, because even on that RX, I began to develop a clot in my leg. He responded appropriately and I won’t argue with him again! He was100% right! I highly recommend him!

Dr. Christensen did a total hip replacement on me 5 years ago. I highly recommend him! Yesterday I saw Matt, the PA for some issues with my left leg. I was very impressed with him too!

Dr. C needed an Xray prior to my hip replacement. An XRay tech came in early to do it. Unfortunately, I don't know her name,however, she was awesome too. I couldn't recommend both the health care and the facility any higher. This was my second encounter with the surgery center and Dr. C., which I think speaks highly of both.

I was referred to Dr. Christensen, he went above and beyond to help me. He has a great bedside manner and is such a wonderful, caring physician. Wonderful! He really takes the time to offer his patients the best care. Would not consider anyone else for hip or knee. His skills are amazing, plus he really demonstrates that he wants his patients to get better!
